Sweden produced an outstanding turnaround in Halmstad last night after recovering from 2-0 down in the first leg of their UEFA Under-21 Championship play-off to win 4-1 against France in the return and reach the tournament proper in 2015.
It was a game high on controversy as the Swedes – who lined up with Celtic striker John Guidetti in their team – hit three goals through an Isaac Thelin double and an Oscar Lewicki strike.
Their comeback looked in serious danger when Layvin Kurzawa scored with three minutes remaining, with the defender then celebrating right in front of the Swedish players:
But Sweden had the last laugh as Lewicki hit his second to win the tie – and Guidetti and the hosts made sure Kurzawa regretted his over-elaborate celebrations:
